Senior Software Engineer

VANTA Partners' client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-paced and innovative Software Engineering Team – but this role is more than “just software”! Our aggressive technology and new product development roadmap combined with growth in new and existing markets has resulted in the need to hire a Senior Software Engineer, based at our NH headquarters. We are looking for an experienced software engineer who possesses a creative/innovative persona and is interested in a challenging and highly-visible role as part of our small and dedicated software engineering team.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will play a key role in the software, engineering, and new product development teams by driving the development of customer-facing applications and control systems that differentiate us in the market. You must exhibit attention to detail, work efficiently, and be able to balance priorities across diverse projects. You will need to bring an understanding or willingness to embrace LabVIEW as one of the tools you will use in this capacity as well as a passion for elegant design in all aspect of software development including “under the hood” processes and refined customer-facing graphical user interface.

Job Duties:

• Manage individual Software Engineering projects within both the New Product Development and Sustaining Development portfolios
• Contribute to technical discussions and solution proposals across product portfolios
• Scope Software Engineering tasks and maintain individual development schedules
• Maintain existing LabVIEW-based applications with updates including issue resolution and new feature additions
• Develop test and release schedules for new feature/application releases
• Develop and maintain robust source code control practices
• Develop creative and elegant solutions for both back-end operations as well as customer-facing applications
• Provide respectful customer support when required

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent
• 2-5+ years’ experience focused on software development
• Experience designing and developing robust software architecture
• Knowledge of LabVIEW (NI Certification desired)
• Working knowledge of the Actor Framework
• Demonstrated ability to create professional User Interfaces
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug existing code
• Experience using Source Code Control including Git
• Experience using Python and/or additional programing languages such as C++, SQL / SQLite database utilization also considered
• Experience with Agile/iterative prototyping development
